Luke 22:15. And He said to them, "I have really wanted so much to celebrate this Seder with you before I die!
Yeshua’s life and words tells us that not only did He celebrate, honor, and Keep Pesach He looked forward to it! He didn’t view it as a cumbersome burden that he couldn’t eat bread! He looked forward to it, He wanted to celebrate Pesach with His Talmidim, His family like we did last Sunday evening together in our corporate Seder! Pesach was the last event, the last Feast Day He celebrated with His Talmidim before He was crucified! The Pesach Seder marked the transition from Adonai’s Glory residing in the Temple system to Yeshua becoming our sacrifice and Adonai’s glory residing within us! As Yeshua stated in Matthew 5:17-19, these Moedim are not done away with in fact they’re rehearsals for the coming Messianic Reign when the Kingdom of Heaven and this world become one again. His blood purified us and redeemed us from death! Sha’ul elaborates upon this Pesach revelation in:
I Corinthians 5:7-8. Get rid of the old hametz (Zume: leaven, metaph of the mental and moral corruption with its tendency to infect others like leaven), so that you can be a new batch of dough, because in reality you are unleavened (Azumos: unleavened, a spiritual condition of sincerity and truth, unpenetrated by evil, uncorrupted, free from the faults of iniquity). For our Pesach lamb, the Messiah, has been sacrificed. 8 So let us celebrate the Seder not with leftover hametz, the hametz of wickedness and evil, but with the matzah of purity and truth.
We don’t want yesterday’s old manna, the old leftover hametz of wickedness and evil! We pursue the matzah of purity and truth which can only be found and received through the Passover lamb of God, Yeshua established the renewed covenant of spirit and truth!! In receiving Yeshua as our Passover Lamb sacrifice the mental and moral corruption is removed, we are a new creation, a new batch of dough with a clean uncorrupted spirit! We now see that the specific, divine purpose of the Moedim, the Feast days are many and complex!
The Feasts serve as guideposts while we journey through life! They let you know you are on the right course, the true path towards our creator, in proper alignment with Adonai! It ensures one is not going in circles or getting lost in the journey. Leviticus, along with the rest of Torah keeps you from falling prey to deception, falsehood, apostasy, and separation from Adonai’s presence! These Moedim, the Feasts mark heavenly transitions, supernatural paradigm shifts, phase shifts, heavenly shaking that heralds or marks a change of time and seasons, and the restoration of proper heavenly, Kingdom alignment.
One of the reasons the warfare has been so intense is because we're at the threshold of a new door (transition). Do not fear the shaking and sifting the Lord is allowing during this transition season. It’s necessary to establish proper boundaries, proper alignment, expose mindsets, agendas, and motivations that hinder, and a call for undivided devotion unto Him. Adonai is opening doors spiritually and empowering His people in new eras as evil gets worse. Kingdom doors must be opened forcefully through prayer, decrees, unshakable trust and sometimes through warfare! Adonai is granting His people keys, strategies, and access to places we have not experienced before. Do not shrink back but boldly move ahead in confident obedience to occupy the open doors. Passover marks the transition from one epoch of time into another such as the entry into the Promise Land, or as we are now entering into the last!
Pesach is a celebration of Supernatural transition! Pesach marks a transition, from the previous year to the new year, from Slavery to Freedom, from Sin to Salvation in Yeshua, from Death to eternal life! I want to quickly share two more profound examples of restoration, renewal and transition from our history. They all record the necessity of cleansing, purity, and walking upright before Adonai:
King Josiah 640 BC-608 BC. Josiah or Yoshiyahu was king of Judah (641–609 BCE). His name literally means "healed by Yah”. Scripture describes Josiah as an extremely righteous king who "walked in all the way of David his father and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left" (2 Kings 22:2). In the eighteenth year of his rule, Josiah ordered the High Priest to renovate, restore, and reopen Solomon’s temple. King Josiah reigned as King over Judah (after the Kingdom split). He is also one of the kings mentioned in the genealogy of Yeshua in
Matthew 1:10. Hizkiyahu was the father of M'nasheh, M'nasheh was the father of Amon, Amon was the father of Yoshiyahu,
Josiah is known as a reformer, leading a nationwide reformation and revival that turned Judah back to God-a principle that exists today. Josiah was known for his zealousness after Adonai.
II Kings 23:19-25. Yoshiyahu also removed all the shrines of the high places in the cities of Shomron, which the kings of Isra'el had made in order to provoke [ADONAI] to anger, and treated them the same as in Beit-El. 20 He put to death all the priests of those high places on the altars there, then burned human bones on them. Finally he returned to Yerushalayim. 21 The king issued this order to all the people: "Observe Pesach to ADONAI your God, as written in this scroll of the covenant." 22 For Pesach had not been so observed since the days when the judges ruled Isra'el - not during the times of any of the kings of Isra'el or of the kings of Y'hudah. 23 But in the eighteenth year of King Yoshiyahu this Pesach was observed to ADONAI in Yerushalayim. 24 Yoshiyahu got rid of the mediums and the people using spirit guides, as well as the household gods, the idols and all the disgusting things spotted anywhere in Y'hudah and Yerushalayim. He did this in order to establish the words of the Torah written in the scroll Hilkiyahu the cohen had found in the house of ADONAI. 25 No previous king was like him; because he turned to ADONAI with all his heart, with all his being and with all his power, in accordance with all the Torah of Moshe; nor did any king like him arise afterwards.
Pesach is about restoration and revival, transitioning nations back unto Adonai!! In the post exilic period when the Second Temple restoration and rebuild is complete, the people repented, then are purified, then biblical worship in spirit and truth breaks out:
Ezra 6:19-22. The people from the exile kept Pesach on the fourteenth day of the first month. 20 For the cohanim and L'vi'im had purified themselves together; all of them were pure. So they slaughtered the Pesach lambs for all the people from the exile and for their kinsmen the cohanim and for themselves. 21 The people of Isra'el who had returned from the exile and all those who had renounced the filthy practices of the nations living in the land in order to seek ADONAI the God of Isra'el, ate [the Pesach lamb] 22 and joyfully kept the feast of matzah for seven days; for ADONAI had filled them with joy by turning the heart of the king of Ashur toward them, so that he assisted them in the work of the house of God, the God of Isra'el.
Once again, proper alignment and obedience to Adonais word is critical! All these examples lay a prophetic foundation to reveal exactly what Yeshua did 2,000 years ago at Pesach which is why this Moedim is one of our most important. It’s the season of the supernatural. Yeshua, through Pesach transitioned us into a more perfect sacrifice, a better covenant that is directly connected to Pesach. The greatest revival ever recorded! Billions have been saved! Jeremiah prophesized about Yeshua’s Pesach covenant:
Jeremiah 31:31-34. "Here, the days are coming," says ADONAI, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isra'el and with the house of Y'hudah. 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated my covenant, even though I, for my part, was a husband to them," says ADONAI. 33 "For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra'el after those days," says ADONAI: "I will put my Torah within them (not do away with it of nail it to the cross) and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, 'Know ADONAI'; for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickednesses and remember their sins no more."
Jeremiah prophetically revealed exactly why Yeshua came to earth 2,000 years ago! Through Yeshua as our Passover Lamb sacrifice our sins are known no more, wiped away! The Gospels record Yeshua’s teachings and miracles! The Gospels give us insight on His demonstration of power proving Yeshua is the Messiah! The Gospels give us a detailed overview of the life and ministry of Yeshua for a very specific reason!
Matthew 11:29. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (anapausis: rest not from work but in work, inward tranquility, word used for Shabbat rest. The harmonious working of all faculties and affections) for your souls.
A Talmidim, a disciple mimics their master! Yeshua told us to take His yoke and learn from Him! This is why it’s all recorded in such detail! To learn from Yeshua so that we may have anapausis-rest!
One of the most profound scriptures that overview exactly what Yeshua did is found in Hebrews which gives us profound revelation! Hebrews is written to Messianic Jews in Jerusalem and Judah who are experiencing the transition period between the birth, death, and resurrection of Yeshua and the demise and destruction of the Temple itself in A.D. 70. Which was a 38-40 year transition process! Chapter 9 of Hebrews begins with a short overview of the Temple, what’s in it, and how the services and sacrifices were performed. The author then transitions in verse 11 to the arrival of Yeshua:
Hebrews 9:11-14. But when the Messiah appeared as cohen gadol of the good things that are happening already, then, through the greater and more perfect Tent which is not man-made (that is, it is not of this created world), 12 he entered the Holiest Place once and for all. And he entered not by means of the blood of goats and calves, but by means of his own blood, thus setting people free forever. 13 For if sprinkling ceremonially unclean persons with the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer restores their outward purity; 14 then how much more the blood of the Messiah, who, through the eternal Spirit, offered himself to God as a sacrifice without blemish, will purify our conscience (suneidesis {soon-i'-day-sis}: the conscience, the soul, the process of thought which distinguishes what is morally or bad) from works that lead to death, so that we can serve the living God!
This is profound, earth shattering revelation! Yeshua died for you and I, by His blood our sins are washed away to be known no more! Verse 11 is quoting from Leviticus 16 to purify the Mishkahn with the blood and verse 13 is quoting Numbers 19 regarding the Red Heifer Sacrifice for defilement of death! The author reveals Yeshua is our blood sacrifice, he is our Red Heifer Sacrifice! Yeshua entered heaven to purify that actual Temple with His own blood! HaSatan had defiled heaven when he sinned. Like Joshua, Josiah, and Ezra there must be covenant cleansing, the removal of all idols, all impurities, all things not of Adonai’s kingdom from us!
Leviticus 17:11 records that the life is in the blood and that blood must be placed on the altar for sin atonement. Blood is required for the created being to be restored to the creator because Sin entered the world through Adam separating us from our creator. The only way into our Fathers presence is through the blood of the covenant established by Yeshua 2,000 years ago. Yeshua is the perfection of the blood covenant. All covenants require blood!
Hebrews 9:18-22. This is why the first covenant too was inaugurated with blood. 19 After Moshe had proclaimed every command of the Torah to all the people, he took the blood of the calves with some water and used scarlet wool and hyssop to sprinkle both the scroll itself and all the people; 20 and he said, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has ordained for you." 21 Likewise, he sprinkled with the blood both the Tent and all the things used in its ceremonies. 22 In fact, according to the Torah, almost everything is purified with blood; indeed, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
I’ve repeatedly shared this over the last several years! We are not saved by grace, we are only saved by the blood! Its only through the blood that sins are forgiven! This is why this Moedim is one of our biggest! Pesach is our Superbowl! Before Yeshua all humankind had turned to their own ways, each person doing what they thought to be right according to their own eye! Adonai laid the sins of all humanity upon His one and only Son, Yeshua! Yeshua was pierced and crushed for our transgressions, for our sins, He was bruised for our iniquities, our curses! Yeshua was afflicted for all of our sin and suffering! Through His affliction, by His suffering, by His wounds He healed us, made us whole, washed away our sins to be known no more, giving us Shalom, reconciling us unto our heavenly Father, our creator!! Yeshua set us free and gave us everlasting life yet He did even more!!!
Hebrews 9:23-26. Now this is how the copies of the heavenly things had to be purified, but the heavenly things themselves require better sacrifices than these. 24 For the Messiah has entered a Holiest Place which is not man-made and merely a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, in order to appear now on our behalf in the very presence of God. 25 Further, he did not enter heaven to offer himself over and over again, like the cohen hagadol who enters the Holiest Place year after year with blood that is not his own; 26 for then he would have had to suffer death many times - from the founding of the universe on. But as it is, he has appeared once at the end of the ages in order to do away with sin through the sacrifice of himself.
Yeshua has once and for all conquered sin and death! We too have died with Him so that we will also live with Him. He will return to Judge and rule the world! This is the transition we are currently in! The shifting and restoration of all things in preparation for the Messianic reign!
Romans 6:8-11. Now since we died with the Messiah, we trust that we will also live with him. 9 We know that the Messiah has been raised from the dead, never to die again; death has no authority over him. 10 For his death was a unique event that need not be repeated; but his life, he keeps on living for God. 11 In the same way, consider yourselves to be dead to sin but alive for God, by your union with the Messiah Yeshua.
Yeshua is the true Passover Lamb of God whose sacrificial death and shed blood causes death to "pass over" (Pesach) those who trust in Him giving Eternal life. Have great expectation and anticipation for supernatural miracles. The ultimate goal of salvation is not simply to redeem us from the curse of sin and death, but to unite, we all have equal seating at the Passover table!
Yeshua’s goal is to reconcile us with Adonai in eternal love in the Kingdom. Salvation isn’t the end goal, it’s the beginning of our journey in becoming His ambassadors, to walk, live, and demonstrate Yeshua’s resurrection power. He’s not in the Tomb, the tomb is empty. He’s alive and that same resurrection power is alive and available to us! He gave us His power to heal, to raise the dead, to set the captives free! This is true revival, true awakening! No advertising necessary, when the power is demonstrated people show up!
John 14:12. Yes, indeed! I tell you that whoever trusts in me will also do the works I do! Indeed, he will do greater ones, because I am going to the Father.
Let us transition to the supernatural this Passover season!
