Rabbi and Rebbetzin's Corner April 2025
by Rabbi Eric Carlson on July 8th, 2025
The month of April has arrived. April is commonly associated with the season of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, where it is the seasonal equivalent to October in the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa. April, a transition month, brings us some unpredictable weather! April rains bring lush green pastures but also umbrellas and rain boots! April brings warmer temperatures! The month of April gets its name from the Latin word “aperio”, meaning “to open [bud],” because plants are really beginning to grow and bud now. April 1st is “April Fools’ Day”. The Julien Calendar marked the New Year April 1st. When Pope Gregory shifted to the Gregorian calendar in 1582, he moved the New Year to January 1st. Many continued to celebrate the New Year on April 1st and thus were referred to as “April Fools” because they weren’t celebrating the New Year on January 1st.   Read More

God Judges Motives
by Rabbi Eric Carlson on June 30th, 2025
We are often quick to question peoples’ motives yet we are slow if not even negligent in checking our own. When we are hurt or transgressed by people, we tend to quickly assume the worst-case scenario and conclusion regarding our offenders’ intentions or motives. In reverse, when we are guilty of hurting others we water down our offense, offering numerous excuses to justify our actions while relegating the offense as minor and the offended and hurt person too sensitive.   Read More
Redeem my Family
by Rabbi Eric Carlson on June 30th, 2025
One of the most daunting tasks we face as Messianic Believers, not just as Rabbis, Rebbetzins, or Worship leaders, but every believer, Jew or Gentile who has received Yeshua is the Redemption of our families, our parents, our siblings, our children and grandchildren, and our people. Millions of dollars, a plethora of resources, extreme effort, and copious amounts time have been spent on the unreached people groups of the world by the greater body of Messiah, yet Israel and the Jewish people are rarely if ever included in that mix.   Read More
When God Says No
by Rabbi Eric Carlson on June 3rd, 2025
Acts 12:2-3.  It was around this time that King Herod began arresting and persecuting certain members of the Messianic community; 2 and he had Ya'akov, Yochanan's brother, put to death by the sword. 3 When Herod saw how much this pleased the Judeans, he went on to arrest Kefa as well. It was during the Days of Matzah,  One of the confounding aspects of the Kingdom of God is being able to comprehen...  Read More

by Rabbi Eric Carlson on May 6th, 2025

May is A.A.P.I Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, and Jewish American Heritage month Monday, May 5th, 2025, is Cinco de Mayo , an annual celebration held on May 5 to celebrate Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 led by General Ignacio Zaragoza.
