Rabbi and Rebbetzin’s Corner March 2025

Shalom Mishpocha,

March is here, spring is just around the corner! March is a time of transition, of changing weather patterns. March is the third month of the year in both the Julian and Gregorian calendars. Its length is 31 days. The first day of spring 2025 is on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 5:01 a.m. EDT. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this is marked by the arrival of the spring (vernal) equinox. Daylight saving time is set to begin on Sunday, March 9, 2025. In the early hours, time will jump forward by one hour from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. This marks the shift to local Daylight Saving Time (DST). March is the time for spring cleanup as we remove winters detritus and prepare our gardens for planting! It’s such a joy to be experiencing the warmer temperatures and spring blooms!

The name March comes from Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar. It was named after Mars, the Roman god of war, and an ancestor of the Roman people through his sons Romulus and Remus. Martius was the beginning of the season for warfare, and the festivals held in his honor during the month were mirrored by others in October, when the season for these activities ended. Even in late antiquity, Roman mosaics picturing the months still placed March first.

Purim (Lot’s) begins at sunset, Thursday March 13th, 2025.  We will host our Purim service on Shabbat, Friday March 14th, 2025. Remember to get your costume ready (nothing demonic or improper) as we honor Esthers’ hidden identity.

Monday, March 17th, 2025, is St, Patrick’s Day. Saint Patrick was a fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Known as the "Apostle of Ireland" he brought the Gospel to Ireland. He baptized thousands of people and ordained priests to lead the new Christian communities across the land.

The Biblical New Year, the 1st of Nisan is Saturday March 29th,2025 at sunset.

Exodus 12:1-3. ADONAI spoke to Moshe and Aharon in the land of Egypt; he said, 2 "You are to begin your calendar with this month; it will be the first month of the year for you. 3 Speak to all the assembly of Isra'el and say, 'On the tenth day of this month, each man is to take a lamb or kid for his family, one per household

The year 5785 will be a global birthing moment for the One New Man/Humanity movement. In the most basic terms, transformation represents a season of change in which we are reformed, reshaped, or repositioned, and renewed. In scripture, birthing is rich with symbolism and meaning. It is a precursor to something greater that’s coming and emphasizes the natural progression of events that lead to the fulfillment of God's covenant promises. When something new is about to spring forth, God will instruct us in ways to prepare as one does for childbirth.

We will continue to walk out a season of transition in the year ahead as we are witnessing the unfolding of God’s plan. Do not fear the shaking and sifting the Lord is performing during this transition season. It’s necessary to establish proper boundaries, proper alignment, expose demonic mindsets, agendas, lying spirits, and motivations that hinder our mandate for a united, undivided “One New Humanity”. Where Jew and Gentile are one in Messiah! Five in Hebrew is “Hey” which represents divine breath, revelation, and light. It represents God’s creative power! Hey is the root of Peh, mouth, the mouth/voice of God!

Psalm 29:3-4. The voice of ADONAI is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, ADONAI over rushing waters, 4 the voice of ADONAI in power, the voice of ADONAI in splendor.

The coming New Year we will experience Adonai’s voice over the waters, the God of Glory Thunder, with the breath of God. A time of great confluence in the Moves in the Spirit, where two streams (Jew and Gentile) become one! The spirit realm will be mirrored in the physical realm. It will be a time of great testing in this season as God thunders. Foundational weaknesses and falsehoods will be tested, refining will occur. Those things not of God shall be removed. The New year of 5785 is a call to Messianic believers to seize the Kairos moment of divine opportunities. We must live in sync with the Ruach HaKodesh at all times.

Let us transition into the New Year in alignment with Adonai’s Will and Kingdom. Let our prayer in this New Year be for deeper intimacy with Adonai in Yeshua! Let us move into the New Year with a humble, contrite heart through repentance, transformation, and a renewing of our minds. Heavenly Father, thank You for making all things new! How great is Your faithfulness, nothing ahead in this New Year will surprise us. We will trust in You, Adonai, forever, because You are our Rock of Ages.

Shalom and Blessings,

Rabbi and Rebbetzin Carlson!
